Die Queens of the Stone Age sind eine 1997 von Josh Homme gegründete Band aus Palm Desert, Kalifornien, die sich grob der Alternative- bzw. der Stoner-Rock-Szene zurechnen lässt. Jedoch variiert ihr Sound so stark, dass eine genaue Einordnung in ein Genre nicht möglich ist. Einziges ständiges Bandmitglied ist Josh Homme.
