Conclave with Soulphiction

February see’s London party outfit Conclave return to Café 1001 following their cracking start to 2014 on 19th January with Berlin’s Cersare vs Disorder, local London lad Lakosa, Rico Casazza, Kid Am and Gabbi Lopez.

To topline proceedings they have got the German groove-mongering powerhouse, Michael Baumann aka Soulphiction. The Philpot Records proprietor made his entry to DJing through his passion for hip-hop and despite his musical outlook changing dramatically through years working in a record shop, when he plays out his roots still shine through with sets comprising hip-hop, jazz and disco laced throughout a smooth deep house overhaul. With releases on Perlon, Poker Flat, Playhouse, Freude Am Tanzen and 20 years of DJ experience the February Conclave is down to be the hot ticket for Sunday offerings with Soulphiction at the helm.

Japanese native and Berlin based Kaitaro has almost identical foundations in his musical output today. He, like Michael, started DJing hip-hop from 17 and later developed a taste for the sounds of house music and techno. With releases on Grow, Hypergroove, Level Records and Alphahouse, Kaitaro is a master of his art - crafting pathways and building subtle journeys throughout his sets.

The penultimate protagonist for the afternoon is Alex Kassain aka Bearight, a London based beatsmith and DJ who is one half of the production duo, Bearight & Lookleft, who have seen releases on Pets Recordings, Boe Recordings and Release Sustain.

The final artists to soundtrack Café 1001’ afternoon is, London's Saturday morning after Party Subterrania residents and mentors Mauro Ferno & Mestivan and Conclave resident Kid Am.

The talent on offer for this Sunday shindig certainly points at one thing, it’s going to be a deep groovey affair with plenty of vintage belters thrown in there for good measure.
