Description
Neil Gaiman is one of the most celebrated writers of our time and the bestselling author of novels for children and adults, including American Gods, The Ocean At The End Of The Lane, and The Graveyard Book (the only title to win both the Newbery and Carnegie Medals). He is also the winner of other numerous literary honours, including the Hugo, Bram Stoker, and World Fantasy Award.
His DC Comic series, Sandman, was described by the LA Times as 'the greatest epic in the history of comic books'. His work has been adapted for film, television, and radio, including Stardust directed by Matthew Vaughan and the animated feature Coraline.
In a revolutionary new concept of synchronised multimedia storytelling, Neil Gaiman will read aloud his story The Truth Is A Cave In The Black Mountains. The renowned artist Eddie Campbell (From Hell) has illustrated the story and FourPlay String Quartet have created an entirely new underscore to the story.
The Truth Is a Cave in the Black Mountains was originally commissioned by Sydney Opera House for the Graphic Festival – these performances are its European premiere.
On 17 June 2014, Headline Publishing Group will publish a four-colour, enhanced edition of The Truth is a Cave in the Black Mountains, beautifully illustrated by Eddie Campbell.
‘It was simply amazing. …it was more than just a reading. It was a performance full of subtlety and nuance… Gaiman kept 2000 people on the edge of their seat.’ S.T.S.O.O.I. BLOG
