Description
Burn The Machine presents the second of their off-festival quarterly Surgical parties, aiming at bridging hard drum'n'bass, breakcore and industrial music.
On deck-duties this time:
SWITCH TECHNIQUE
Poland's Switch Technique has had a meteoric rise in the last few years. Discovered and chaperoned by DJ Hidden and The Outside Agency with whom he has collaborated on several releases, this artists's output is at the very core of the genre known as crossbreed. Combining razor-sharp beats with the heaviness and club-appeal of hardcore, his extremely hard drum'n'bass has landed him releases on such labels as TOA's Genosha One Seven Five, Future Sickness, Yellow Stripe or his very own Union.
Switch Technique's show at Surgical 2 will be his second visit to Subland after a remarked and praised gig in 2012.
TECHDIFF
England's TechDiff is the unidentified sonic object of breakcore. Kicking off with a record for Peace Off in which he single-handedly gave a new shape to infectious, shattered raggacore, this perfectionist has since them moved to much more complex and cinematic beats and rhythms, as demonstrated with his 2012 album for Ad Noiseam, "P.Conv". An innovative and boundary-pushing artist, TechDiff has repeatedly shown that breakcore can be a highly technological, perfectly produced affair combining sheer drive (for the feet) and precise, modern-day tones (for the brain).
TechDiff's show at Surgical will be his first concert in Berlin since his opening for Venetian Snares in early 2012.
NEEDLE SHARING (DE)
Needle Sharing are the veterans of the night. This German's act has been brewing hard and distorted tracks at the meeting point of drum'n'bass and industrial since the turn of the millenium, and acquired in the meanwhile quite a major fan-base. Harder, crazier and noisier than most d'n'b out there, Needle Sharing's tracks bridge the heavyiness and noise of the industrial scene with the appeal and energy of drum'n'bass and crossbreed.
supported by Surgical's regulars Nicolas Chevreux (Ad Noiseam) and Sonair, as well as a whole second floor from the Deathrave crew.
