Description

The undisputed godfather of underground rock will deliver his landmark record, ‘Copper Blue’ (1992), as it should be heard – live! After exiting Hüsker Dü, the granddaddy of alternative rock, Bob Mould formed Sugar and released one of the most important underground rock albums of the early ‘90s. The powerful and ever-fresh debut album, ‘Copper Blue’, was a pivotal moment for alternative rock, laying the foundations for the surge of alternative rock and power punk of the ‘90s and influencing some of today’s rock icons. Called “the glorious second act of Bob Mould’s career” (MOJO), the album draws on the punk of Hüsker Dü and tempers it with prominent melodies and mature writing. The album was a blistering success, far eclipsing the sales for his previous outfit and was voted Album Of The Year in 1992 by NME. As well as spawning four singles – ‘Changes’, ‘Helpless’, ‘A Good Idea’, and ‘If I Can’t Change Your Mind’ – it also contained the stone cold Mould classic, ‘Hoover Dam’. After twenty years, an album reissue, a solo turn, an autobiography and a tribute concert where the likes of Dave Grohl and Ryan Adams paid homage to him, Mould is bringing ‘Copper Blue’ back to be experienced live and on stage.
