Blu + Notes to Self

BLU has become a mainstay of the Los Angeles underground hip hop scene, since the release of his collaboration with DJ Exile on the album Below the Heavens. This 2007 album was received as a classic, and provided BLU international praise, including a XXL Top 10 Freshman feature, and HipHopDX Rookie of the Year.

Since then BLU has released over a half dozen projects, including Johnson&Johnson, The Piece Talks with Ta'Raach, and solo efforts (So)ul Amazing, HerFavoriteColo(u)r, Jesus, NoYork!, and Open.

His most recent effort Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them, is a second effort with Exile, that while released in a raw unmixed format at the end of 2011, is rumoured to be re-released by end of the year with a full mixed and mastered version.

Toronto's NOTES TO SELF will join be joining BLU. The group comprised of Roshin, Swamp Donkey, and Bronze, is anchored by World DMC winner DJ Dopey. NTS released a a barrage of new material at the start of 2012, in preparation for their new album release which is still slated for a later summer release. This includes "Nobody" with Evidence, "Mr. Polite" with Fashawn, and "All Of The Above."
