S.C.U.M
Based in London, S.C.U.M exploded onto the music scene two years ago with the release of their debut single ‘Visions Arise’. The single, together with their exciting and intense live shows, quickly grabbed the imagination of fans and critics alike. Since then the band have toured extensively across the UK and Europe to a growing fan base. Recent signings to Mute, S.C.U.M are set to release a brand new single on the 18th of July 2011. Available on 12” and digital download, ‘Amber Hands’ is the first single to be lifted from the band’s forthcoming debut album which is due for release in September.

Plus support from:
THE HISTORY OF APPLE PIE
Galaxie 500, ‘13’-era Blur, and Pavement have all been absorbed and refracted into The History Of Apple Pie’s style that walks the line between jaded and optimistic, detached and heartfelt; a fuzz maquette for an alternate reality. Merging the perma-stick pop melodies in Stephanie’s (vocals) head with what was in Jerome’s (guitar); a collection of guitar lines reminiscent of slacker geniuses Thurston Moore and Stephen Malkmus. Their daisy-brutal, buttoned-down ferocity and innate melodicism is met halfway by sweetly burnt-out vocals, with a bunch of tunes that are wildly varying but drawn together under a precociously assured aesthetic.
