Description

London based neo-post punk electronic resistance force DETACHMENTS are going to be ones to watch in 2010. Layering sparse, tweaking acid house production over post-punk ESG percussive beats and chunky bass should make for a hands-in-the-air experience - and it does, but only in the sense that Detachments have taken you at gunpoint. Their first single was cut with the help of uber-producer James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine, Little Boots) with whom the band will be recording their debut album with in early 2010. Other impressive producer credits include Tim Goldsworthy and Andrew Weatherall.
Album taster track ‘MESSAGES’ can be found here for FREE: https://fan.musicglue.com/sale/promoproducts.aspx?productid=c43f4c58-77d9-4eae-85a4-e6e6bea7fbab

FEAR NO FEAR: “Weird, warehouse- Warp, house- vocal old stuff…I mean I really, really feel strongly about this track, and Mr Weatherall may have mentioned that I am not a man of many compliments” - Ivan Smagghe.

IS TROPICAL is one of those bands that from the moment you finish listening to their first myspace track, you know you‘ve found that “thing” that’s gonna keep you stuck with them for at least the rest of your day. Is Tropical is a London 3-piece that sound exactly how The Strokes would if they gave up on their stupid-hard-rock-Thin Lizzy routes(at least that’s what they said about their new album…) and listened to The Postal Service instead!
The band promise a live show that sees them totally immersed in music, with their self-edited videos that completely covering the stage.

STOPMAKINGME’s vast musical knowledge and ability to create sets that defy genre and can work a crowd into sweaty frenzy gained him a residency at London institution Fabric.
Stopmakingme is now a regular at parties such as Bugged Out, East Village, The Lock Tavern and Durrr. He is also a prominent member of the Adventures In The Beetroot Field camp – fitting perfectly into their mantra of championing new and interesting music.
