Stray Kites is band of two, Max Detrich and Junior Roseboro, stationed in but not restricted to Ashburn, Virginia, America, Earth. Max, more often that not, plays percussion and Junior does most everything else. Stray Kites are dedicated to making music for the sake of enjoyment, and offer free downloads of all their songs on their bandcamp account. The Stray Kites are almost indifferent as to whether people will like their music or not, and simply want people to listen to it and share it. They first met when they missed the bus and have been jamming since Max suggested they should.
As of late they've been working their sophomore album entitled "Mieux." Which was released on July 22, 2011. These singles symbolize a much more solidified sound that incorporates mandolin, drums, melodica, and bells to name a few of their instruments of choice. The band describes them as "be esoterically cynical and emotive; never arduous, but always contextually layered. At heart we’d like for this to be a sophisticated and intimate, but above all sincere, indie folk/pop record."
