Biography
Rotlaus is a Norwegian band from Ørsta in Sunnmøre. The band was established in 2015.
Rotlaus' first album Bygderamp ended up in the top ten on the VG list. The band was awarded its first gold record for sales and streaming with the song Byjenta in 2017. In 2017, the band released the song Rundt neste sving, which quickly received both gold and platinum awards. In total, Rotlaus has received 21 gold records, 8 platinum records, 3 double platinum records and 2 triple platinum records. For their second album, På vei, the band was nominated in the categories album of the year and breakthrough of the year with a Gramo grant before the Spellemannprisen 2018. Rotlaus was also nominated for the Spellemannprisen 2021 and the Spellemannprisen 2022 in the party music category for the songs released in the respective years.
On the Way was the ninth most streamed album in Norway in 2019 and the 13th most streamed album in 2018, making them the most streamed Norwegian band in the two years. As of week 20 in 2020, the album had been on Toplista.no for 119 weeks. Their most famous song is Rundt next sving.
