One of the pioneering “cumbia villera” groups from Argentina among other similar groups, such as Damas Gratis or Mala Fama. Fronted by Ariel "El Traidor" Salinas, they marked the revolution of the “Cumbia Villera” genre, an argentinian shantytown version of the classic tropical cumbia, mixed with lyrics treating sensitive subjects such as prostitution, drug addiction or crime. “Cumbia villera” and Pibes Chorros became massively popular, most importantly amongst the argentinian lower class.

After releasing "El Poder De La Guadaña" in 2004, Ariel and other key members left the band, starting a feud with their former label Magenta Records due to unpaid royalties. The band continues active with a different line-up, while Ariel and the other members formed a new band, El Traidor y los Pibes.
