Part Six was a German boy band with a multinational lineup. The members lived together for a time in a shared band house in Wachtberg near Bonn. The group was founded in the summer of 2006 by Matt Mockridge and Tim Niesel. Bastian Theurich, Marc Jentzen, and Lemar Ali later joined the band. Jesse D’Lane (also known as Jessie) was selected from over 3,000 applicants through a casting process that was accompanied by the youth magazine Yam!.
Part Six gained public attention in September 2006 with the single "Want Ya!", a cover version of a song by Swedish Pop Idol runner-up Darin. The single entered the top 50 of the German charts and became the official theme song of the YOU youth fair in 2006. In December of the same year, the second single "Drive so Far" was released. The band performed as a special guest on LaFee’s "Das-erste-Mal" tour in Germany and Austria. Prior to that, the group had already completed a two-month tour of schools, shopping malls, and cinemas in Germany and Austria.
The band was promoted through youth magazines such as Bravo, Yam!, Starflash, The Dome Magazine, and Popcorn. They also appeared on various television programs, including KI.KA LIVE, VIVA Live!, Toggo TV, The Dome, Tigerenten Club, Pokito TV, and ZDF-Fernsehgarten.
In March 2007, the record label EMI Germany decided not to renew the band's contract for economic reasons. The financial investment in the project was considered unsustainable without international success.
As a result, several members were replaced. From 2009 onward, new songs were produced and a second album was prepared. The newly formed band performed, among other appearances, at the Jetix Kids Awards with a cover version of Michael Jackson’s "Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’". In 2009, founding member Jesse D’Lane left the group, leaving only two original singers. The now five-member band began focusing not only on the German market but also on the Polish market, and filmed the next single's music video in Warsaw. In early 2010, the single "The Love Is Over" was released as part of the promotion for the planned second album.
In July 2010, Kenny Walter joined the band. In August 2010, Chris Wieber left the group for health reasons, and Jeremy Williams, later known as Jeremy Fragrance, also departed for unspecified reasons. Part Six then announced plans to search for a new fifth member in Austria through their own casting show under the new name Unique 5, but this project was never realized. The final live performance of the remaining four members took place in September 2010 at the Magnifest in Braunschweig.
In May 2011, Part Six officially announced their disbandment.
At the end of 2011, former member Orry Jackson participated in the casting show The Voice of Germany and subsequently began a solo career in electronic music.
