lecca is a reggae/R&B/dancehall Japanese singer that made her debut in 2005 with the mini album called ‘’rekka’‘. Her indie era finished when she re-started her career with Avex Trax and the mini album ‘’Dreamer’‘, that was released on the 26th April 2006. At first, she decided to release only albums and mini albums and not singles, and so four months later the ‘’Urban Pirates’’ album was released.

After a year of silence, lecca was back with her second album with Avex, called ‘’Otaku Girls no Utage’’ that debuted at #23 in the Oricon Charts. In 2008, after the great success of ‘’City Caravan’‘: her first single called ‘’For You’’ was released on the 4th of march.(<credit to Christ9) Her next full length album was made in the same year, “BIG POPPER”. “My measure” and “TSUBOMI feat. Kusuo / Snow Crystals” were her second and third singles. The title songs were featured in the full album “Power Butterfly (パワーバタフライ)” which was released in 2010.

In 2011, she made a mini-album called,”Hakobune ~ballads in me~”. At the end of that year she made her fourth single “Right Direction”. If you purchased this and “Step One” you could enter for a chance to attend one of lecca’s album release events. She released another full length album in 2012 called “ZOOLANDER” and another in 2013 called “TOP JUNCTION”.

The funny thing is that it actually seems like the mixing is great (from what little I can hear from the over-abuse of the compressors) but then the mastering engineer (and I know her name btw) COMPLETELY ruins it all because either a) she has no idea what's she's doing but somehow got the job; b) she just doesn't care and wants her money; c) she's the biggest enemy of music; d) she was seriously pressured by avex to do everything to make lecca's songs extra loud (although that doesn't make sense because why not do it this bad to other artists?)... Idk, I'm really baffled that something as badly sonically abused like this is even allowed to exist lmfao. I'm sorry I can't stop going on about this but whenever I listen to lecca's songs I simply can't believe what I'm hearing. Mostly I just REALLY feel bad for lecca and her talent getting this kind of treatment.

yeah best albums are kinda pointless for me too, i never buy them or download them unless there are new songs. i'm just surprised that avex hasn't done that yet. remastered songs would be good, maybe the quality would be better.

It just seems like she doesn't release best albums. The same with singles (which she did try releasing but she stopped with them in the end). I absolutely hate best albums, but in lecca's case I'd actually like one because it would be nice to own it. And if they'd remaster the songs then best album all the way.

she hasn't even released a best album yet :/ that would've been nice for her 10th anniversary. when are they counting from anyway? rekka was released in 2004 and Dreamer in 2006. i guess they're counting from when she was signed to avex? live again is pretty nice btw, i thought it was boring when i first saw the preview on youtube.

so, it's her 10th anniversary and avex is celebrating with...a rental only digital mini-album with one new song and four old ones. WOOOO talk about going all out.

I have noticed that about RUNWAY. it's one of the best songs from TOP JUNCTION and is a great opener, I just wish the sound was better quality.

↓ Yes, busy ガール definitely has it the worst on tough Village, you noticed that well. You should also try to see how Right Direction, Dreaming of you, Moto Kare, Poka~n, RUNWAY and SOLA fare too, for fun. I mean, those are just some of the most notable examples of really bad sound.

↓ i never really thought about it but i was listening to busy ガール and you're totally right. it's a great song but i'm just thinking about how much better it COULD sound. so much better. definitely sounds squashed down. her music probably sounds so much better live.

Sometimes I really wonder do people who produce lecca's music have ears. Seriously. I mean, does lecca even listen to her own final product? The clipping in a lot of her songs, not to mention the squashed to death sound and lacking of dynamics are a tragedy. It's sad that such a great discography had to be ruined like this. Out of all Jpop music I've heard so far, her music suffers the most and is almost unlistenable sometimes. Don't get me wrong, all pop music's production nowadays is going downhill and rarely ever is decent enough, I know, but to get it to be bad to this extent is something that's not worth shelling out $30 for an album (I know lecca's albums are a bit cheaper than most other Jpop albums, but with the shipping it's around that price), even if the music is really great. It just makes me sad, all in all. I'm not saying no one should buy her albums, I'm just saying that it leaves a bad aftertaste to think about it when you do.

I can't stop listening to Kitto Daijoubu and JUST 1 TIME. These two are for now my favorites from the new album.
