Biography

  • Born

    25 July 1968 (age 55)

Joe Pisapia is the singer/guitarist and main songwriter for eclectic pop heroes and touring troubadours, Joe, Marc's Brother. Joe and his brother Marc formed the aforementioned outfit in 93 with the recording of their first album "The Pennsylvania Sessions". Since then they have released three full length albums and one ep and have gained much acclaim and popularity over the last nine years of making courageous music together. Their main successes have been driven not by traditional industry channels, but rather from kindred spirited musicians like folk-popsters Guster and Canadian crooner Ron Sexsmith who have helped them further their musical campaign.

Joe's new solo album, "Daydreams" is a pastoral intimate jaunt through classic folk, dreamy chamber pop, jug, and gypsy-grass. The palette is organic and warm while the songs are adventurous and soul bearing. After one of Joe's shows at the Living Room in NY, someone described him as a cross between Hogie Carmichael and Ray Davies. (he quite liked that)

Between touring and recording with JMB, Joe has produced records for "The Pierces" (Epic/550) and Anthony Rapp (original cast of "Rent" and costar of "A Beautiful Mind") to name a few.

His unmistakable voice and attention to melody guide his honest lyrics to a place that resonates in all of us– Home.
