input_output is an individual solo project of the brazilian musician Douglas Dickel. By blending acoustics and electronics elements, and exploring collages, edition, textures (like radio static) and minimalistic sounds (hipnotic repetitions), Dickel seeks out to mix almost paradoxal aspects, and thus promote a harsh dialogue between the pure experimentalism and the structure of a song in itself. The songs are supposed to be listened in headphones, and really loud.

Playing live, input_output is a band, with Dickel, Felipe Oliveira, Mateus D’Almeida and Renan Stiegemeier. Besides the basic and classic instrumental trio of guitar-bass-drums, they also alternate between the manipulation of syntethizers, effects pedals, vacuum cleaner, a musical toy bear and a megaphone.
