'Fossils' might be used to refer to more than one artist:
1) Fossils (Bengali: ফসিল্স) is a Bangla Hard Rock band formed in Kolkata, West Bengal, India in 1998. The group is considered one of the pioneering rock acts in Kolkata's Bangla music scene.
The band is currently composed of Rupam Islam (lead vocals, lyricist), Deep Ghosh (guitar, backing vocals), Allan Ao (guitar, backing vocals), Prasenjit 'Pom' Chakraborty (bass, backing vocals), and Tanmoy Das (drums, percussion).
They are noted for their emotional lyrics, and their social commentary including the advocation of causes such as the welfare of HIV positive people.
Over the years they have cemented their positions as one of India's finest, heaviest and most consistent acts with a career spanning over 20 years and 7 albums and has influenced countless underground acts in Bengal and throughout the country and even in Bangladesh.

Danish duo FOSSILS set out to create a musical expression, which cuts to the bone. The result is a hard, heavy and complex expression that is based exclusively on bass and drums. The music can be characterized as an intense up-tempo rock, which draws on elements from punk and metal.
First record “Meat Rush" with producer team Q & Kned (Beta Satan, Figurines, The Malpractice and others) was released in November 2010 on Mastermind Records. FOSSILS were one of the Danish runner-up groups for the final nomination for the Nordic Music Prize in 2010.
Over the years FOSSILS have established themselves as a reputable and effective liveact and have over the last two years played with Danish names like Iceage, De Høje Hæle, Thulebasen, Moonless and Cola Freaks, and with international names such as the aforementioned Health (U.S.), Millions (U.S.), Liturgy (U.S.), Deathcrush (NO) and Zu (Ita).
