Edwin Leal Cerda, professionally known as Edwin Leal, is an independent singer, songwriter, and producer from Matamoros, Mexico (born November 3, 2003). From an early age, music became his most natural form of expression; he began writing and experimenting with melodies inspired by the sounds and emotions conveyed by his favorite artists.
In 2014, Edwin experienced a turning point when he recorded his first song a home project that, despite its simplicity, gave him the certainty that he wanted to pursue music professionally. Four years later, in 2018, he released his first official single “Rebellion”, taking his first steps into the digital music world. Although it was a modest production, it allowed him to share his voice with a wider audience and spark the passion that would drive him to keep creating.
His artistic growth was solidified with the release of his EP “Running for My Life” (2022), a collection of songs filled with emotion and personal reflection. Among them is "Future", which Edwin describes as an intimate manifesto about the fears, hopes, and decisions that shaped his life during the pandemic. The project also features tracks like "Borderline", "Don't Give Up", "Dancing on the Fire", "Tonight", "Was Blind", and a special remix of "Future", showcasing his versatility and his ability to create unique sonic atmospheres.
Beyond his releases, Edwin dreams of taking his music to the stage, embarking on a live tour, and connecting directly with audiences even those who might be hearing him for the first time. At just 21 years old, his dedication, discipline, and love for the craft position him as an emerging voice with a sincere vision and much to offer.
