Biography
Born in Abington, Pennsylvania in the mid 80’s, William Cody Kahmar also known on stage simply as Cody Kahmar has been inspired to sing since he could remember. "Every event, every gain, every loss, every move and every mistake I made, made me the person I am today", he says. He’s listened to his parents blasting 80’s Rock and Jazz since the day he was born. As he grew, his love for music also grew. Hearing more artists and different genres of music just made him fall more in love with the art of music. “I just love singing and recording good records”, says Cody. “My influences have such a big range. I love big haired bands like White Snake and Poison, R&B acts like Dru Hill, Boyz II Men, and Usher. I really like Pop and Rock. Paramore and Incubus are two of my favorite more modern bands. I l also really like HipHop/R&B artists like Lil’Wayne and Drake.” So as you can see he’s well rounded when it comes to his love for music. He has been singing since he stepped foot on this earth, but only performing for the first time back in 2006 after being blessed with his first child. “She really inspired me to use my talent and love for singing to make a better life for everyone around me.” Cody also mentions how his lifestyle changed after his new experience as a father. “ I was in to some not so good things from about seventeen to twenty, but it all changed once I saw her in my arms. I really wanted to get my life together, and music helped me so much. I felt like I was too talented to not use it for something great.” Respected in many open mics throughout the city, he’s been searching for an opportunity to pursue his dream.
