Biography

City Sirens was a Canadian band from Hamilton, Ontario. The band's line up consisted of Mike Dias (Lead Vocals), Eric Ruscinski (Guitar/Vocals), Ryan Pellicciotta (Guitar/Vocals), Fraser Reilly (Bass/Vocals), Jake Nicolle (Drums).

Growing up saturated in the blue-collar work attitude of the famous steel town, the band adapted this motivational work ethic into their music and into their vision. While rehearsing in basements and playing high school house parties, the band began to develop what has now become their distinct and innovative Rock/Pop sound.

Their persistence quickly resulted in the band's frequent appearances on local TV stations and in local newspapers and magazines. Accompanying this growing fan base was the release of their debut record "In a Trance" (January 2009).

Following the sold out release show the band purchased their first tour van "Big Bertha" and hit the long and cold Canadian highways from the East to the West coast. Receiving a good response from passionate music listeners across the country, the band performed four to six times a week at nightclubs, high schools and radio stations. Later that year, the band also gained great national exposure with their rendition of John McCrae's poem "In Flanders Fields" song which would air on CBC National Television.

The band opened main stages at festivals such as Toronto's Canadian Music Week, Burlington's Sound of Music Festival, Peterborough's Festival of Lights, Toronto's Honda Indy, St Catharines' Scene Festival & Wasaga Beach's Summeraid. They have opened for 54-40, illScarlett, Shiloh, USS, Social Code and Silverstein. To complete their exciting year, City Sirens returned home to a 2009 Hamilton Music Award Nomination for "Pop/Rock Recording of the Year."

Beginning 2010 with their first USA tour City Sirens showcased their high energy, honest and impacting live performance at Austin Texas' Red Gorilla Music Festival in March. After spending every last dime to get to this world festival, they used their time to busk in the streets, hand out flyers, put up posters and promoted themselves to everyone who walked by them. Their passion for writing music continued to grow roots and they began executing their vision which was now propelling beyond expectation.

The polished band combined creative efforts with producer and engineer Steve Rizun (Drive Records), in September 2010, recording their brand new EP titled "Vacant Company". This album was written, recorded and released all in less than 3 months.
