Biography
Often treading the line between riff-heavy alternative rock and dense, ethereal soundscapes, the band build on the shoegazey alt. rock blueprint left by My Vitriol and their local peers Catherine Wheel. Frontman Aidy has mainly cited Mogwai, Oceansize, Miss Black America, Daisy Chainsaw and Placebo as influences.
Chasing Melfina were formed in Cambridge, England in 2008 by Aidy James Stevens (vocals, guitar) following the collapse of his previous band. The project was initially short-lived, as he was ushered in to play bass for London post-rock band This Is Not A Dead Transmission, forcing Aidy to put CM on hiatus, resuming it when he left TINADT in 2009.
