Biography
Chaostar is a classical, opera, and vocal ensemble formed in Greece in 1998. The group originally consisted of Christos Antoniou, Spiros Antoniou, Sotiris Vayenas, Nathalie Rassoulis, and Sapfo Stavridou. The project was conceived by Christos Antoniou, who studied composition at leading music universities in the United Kingdom. His vision was to merge classical and experimental music into a unified form.
Although all composers from the metal band Septic Flesh contributed to the development of Chaostar’s music, Christos Antoniou played the leading role in directing the ensemble, combining his experience in metal and classical music traditions. The resulting sound is characterised by a blend of dramatic, orchestral elements and avant-garde experimentation.
The music produced by Chaostar explores a wide emotional spectrum, often aiming to create intense and unconventional atmospheres. Vocalist Nathalie Rassoulis brought a distinct presence to the ensemble with her classical training and expressive performance style, contributing significantly to the group's unique identity.
