New Orleans native Brent Bourgeois formed the band Bourgeois Tagg in 1984 with Larry Tagg. The group recorded two albums for Island Records before disbanding, with Bourgeois launching a solo career in 1990. Charisma Records released a self-titled debut that produced the top 40 hit "Dare to Fall In Love."

"A Matter of Feel" (1992) followed on Charisma Records, then Bourgeois re-emerged in 1994 signed to Christian label Reunion Records. "Come Join the Living World," his debut as a Christian artist, produced three No. 1 hits at CCM radio: "One Love," "A Little More Like Jesus" and "Restored."

Bourgeois never produced a follow-up to the disc; instead he moved behind the scenes, working as an executive at Word Records and spending most of the '90s in Nashville.

He is married with four children and now works as a worship leader at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Sacramento. In 2008, Bourgeois Tagg reunited for one performance in Sacramento; while doing publicity for the gig, Bourgeois confirmed that he has essentially retired from the music industry.
