Biography

Staten Island, New York (1992 – present)

Wu-Tang Clan is a New York City rap group with the MCs/Producers RZA, GZA/Genius, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa hailing from Staten Island, Brooklyn and Bronx. They have gone on to become multi-platinum record producers, Grammy winners, TV and film stars, screenwriters, product spokespersons, business owners and, most recently, major motion picture composers. The Clan featured nine MCs until the death of Ol’ Dirty Bastard in 2004. One of the most critically and commercially successful groups of all time, Wu-Tang Clan shot to fame through their uncompromising brand of hardcore rap music. Since their debut, they have introduced or launched the careers of numerous other artists and groups, and already in 1994 there were credited to be over 300 Wu-Tang Clan affiliates, known as the Wu-Tang Killa Bees, consisting of rappers, producers, and record label CEOs.

The founders of the Wu-Tang Clan were RZA, GZA, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard, who had previously formed the group Force of the Imperial Master (later known as All In Together Now after the release of a popular single by that name). The group attracted the attention of some notable figures in the industry, including Biz Markie, but did not manage to secure a record deal.

Neckless was one of my favorite hiphop songs of 2014. 4th production on that was fire. ABT is nice if you are a Wutang fan, but nothing more tbh.

'36 Seasons' being better than that sorry thing called 'A Better Tomorrow' still doesn't make it a good album. It's one of his worst and he got fucking lazy with his pen game. No shame in getting bodied by G Rap and AZ again and again, but it's gotta make you wonder soon as even Shawn Wigs drops more memorable lines. Lyrically, if he doesn't start channeling the spirit of his first two albums right fucking now, I'm ready to give up on him. Seems like Meth the only one on fire again, he's clearly the Clan's MVP right now. You want it gritty and gutter and all that, you go for KA or Rast RFC. That's NY right there.

Ghostface Killah's album so much better than this. Fans should redirect themselves there for 2014 hip hop. Wu shouldn't have let him go from their clan.

They just had a lot more oomph back in the 90s, which happened to be delivered in anger. Even instrumentally/beats were better then too, imo. Doesn't sound like well-aged 'mature' to me - just sounds slightly, maybe a little bit tired.

People really expect these guys to be just as angry as they were 21 years ago? Heh. What a joke. The new album is great, and the most 'mature' thing they have done as Wu-Tang Clan.

"meh. I love the Clan but this album is kinda boring. "[2] there are a couple of alright tracks but nothing stand-out, really. They are not nearly as angry as they used to be, either.
