Örebro, Sweden (2001 – present)

Truckfighters is a band from Örebro, Sweden, formed in 2001.

After releasing several demos in 2001 and 2002, they recorded a split-EP with local Swedish band Firestone in 2003. In 2005 they released their debut album Gravity X on both MeteorCity Records and Fuzzorama Records. Their follow-up album, Phi, was released in 2007 by Poison Tree Records in the U.S. and on the Fuzzorama label elsewhere.

Their sound has been described as classic desert rock, similar to bands like Dozer, Fu Manchu (with whom they have toured), and Kyuss. They have been featured on the MTV Sweden show “Fuzz”

The film Truckfighters by Joerg Steineck and Christian Maciejewski portrays the band’s life. It was released in December 2011 and features interviews with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age. The film provides an ironic, entertaining view of the three “ordinary” guys who transform into Fuzz Monsters onstage.

Their latest album, Universe, was released on February 24, 2014. As a teaser, The Chairman EP was released in October 2013.

Was great getting to see them last month at Psycho Fest. Dango is an awesome stage performer, like a Swedish Angus Young.

VVildDrive, факиншыт, в PlanB гиг был просто хтоничный отвал башки, но выходит, что на мерч с винилом я не попал, т.к. с концерта меня уже уносили >.< Сам себе злобный Буратино :/

digitus_infamis, you should've got to their gig in Moscow a year ago. I've bought there a full discography on vinyl and signed it. T-shirts, picks - all were there, being sold by Dango himself. And LPs were even cheaper than official webstore. The last album I was happy to get at their gig in Prague a month ago. Signed a setlist as a bonus. They kickassed that night!

Mania was the perfect length for them, Universe is a little too short, and both Gravity X & Phi get a bit tedious to listen to. Though the closer on Phi is quite interesting.

The length is it's strength. Their other albums seem so drawn out.
