New Zealand (2001 – present)

1 Technical and aggressive, intense yet melodic, The Fear (formally named Death Defying Life) have emerged from the heart of Yorkshire.Drawing on a multitude of influences, blending old-school power and new-school technique with a love of the Punk/Hardcore scene. With their high energy, razor sharp live show, they’re definitely amongst the strongest and most creative melodic hardcore bands in the United Kingdom.

In 2007 the band embarked on their first European tour opening 12 dates for American Pop Punkers MXPX and Zebrahead.

July 2011 saw their first European headline tour promoting a recently recorded 7 track EP “Heavy Hearts & Bloodshot Eyes”. Shortly after awards in November the band joined the Lockjaw records.

Spring 2012 revealed The Fear’s début full-length album “Here Goes Nothing” (Lockjaw Records & Bells On Records - Japan) and another European tour. Where they played a mix of festivals, club shows, headline & support slots which included being asked to open the bill for Belvedere’s one and only European club show on their reunion tour. Other bands on this bill included Counterpunch (USA), Mute (CA) and Straightaway (FR).
