Jennifer Nettles, Kristin Bush and the absolutely legendary Bill Anderson wrote this song, which begins like a teenage love song, and ends with the heartbreak of teenage tragedy.
Like songs from the 50’s and early 60’s this song is full of teen angst and questions which can never be answered.
it is incredible Bill Anderson has maintained his own identity through all his music, and here can join with one of the hottest new country bands and still create a moment in time.
Jennifer Nettles shows her broad range by bringing this song to life as an adult, and not a teenager.

Jennifer Nettles spoke to Dave Dawson of Nu Country TV about this song: “… Remember back in the fifties there was a trend to have teen tragedies like “Last Kiss.” It ended up the song we did with Bill Anderson is a modern take on that subject - it was pretty interesting He has a tendency to be very dark - it’s Country Gothic. So for this song to turn out the way it did I was very pleased - we wrote it with him in Nashville in our hotel room…
