Stupid Computer! started as just an outlet for Michael Boyes experiments with noise, a half broken computer, and the most basic software legal shareware had to offer. It was well punk.
Since then he has progressed to using a fully working sound card and has also encouraged friend and avid music fan Tom Evans into the fold.
Stupid Computer! finds influence in artists as diverse as Bearsuit, Radiohead, Animal Collective, OOIOO, Gay Against You and Silver Mt Zion.
Since the first EP Stupid Computer! has developed unrecoganisably. After the youthful exuberance of pure noise the makers are now finding their feet and being able to express their vision of a twisted and unique musical soundscape.
The still in progress Silence EP sees SC! move into a full and expansively exciting sound, ranging in places from eerie to the next frantic and danceable. With songs ranging in length from 9 seconds to upto 8 minutes you never know quite what to expect next from Stupid Computer! Probably an indefinite hiatus following creative differences with himself. Again.
