Linz, Austria (2004 – present)

Marcus Füreder a.k.a. Parov Stelar lives and works in Linz, Austria. The freedom of combined with the groove of and describes the character of Parov Stelar. Parov’s productions address the DJ at the club as well as the listener in his easy chair.

After DJ-ing in clubs in the 1990’s Marcus started making music in 1998. He used his real name and the pseudonym Plasma. In 2004 he started producing under the name Parov Stelar. He founded his own record label Etage Noir Recordings the same year.

    The Parov Stelar Trio album is not so bad, but yet miss dark tracks before the worldwide electro-swing success. Ones like Red Haired Woman, War Inside, or Shine feat Lilja Bloom. Unfortunatelly only 1 of these is in his top 50 played tracks, but not high in the charts. IMO a perfect album would be one with a mix of tracks: danceable hits with the great rhythm he often achieves, more solemn work, other neutral stuff, etc.

    This's not "different" music, it's a step back. I was waiting for more from the Trio. Great musicians give a second album consisting of 75% of the sampled music. I've been to three of their concerts in the 2008-2010 year, but now no desire to go. It is unfortunate that the original unique music rolls to primitive.
