Nightnurse formed in 1996 in London, UK. The original line up was Ellyott Dragon - vocals/guitar, Ben Drakeford - bass, Charlotte Hatherley - guitar and Alex Lutes - drums. Charlotte was later replaced by Matt Platts. Charlotte is of course very well known now for her solo work and also being the guitarist of Ash.

Once signed to ex Creation Tim Abbott’s Label ‘Better Records’ Nightnurse released three charting singles in the late ‘90’s - Golem (still with Charlotte), Skirt, and IDF. The band were big in their day and were constantly featured in magazines such as NME, Melody Maker and Kerrang!. They were also the first band to officially use the mp3 format as a format for a single - a fact still documented on, and also picked up by the guinness book of records.

Nightnurse recorded an album in 1998 at Blackwing Studios in london, but this was never released when the label went bust. Following the album sessions, the band recorded four more songs for the now defunct Sanctuary Management whilst the legal case was being sorted out regarding ownership of their album, which have turned up on various web sites since, however there have been no official releases since 1999.

The old album - featuring performances from all members is now the property of the band and due for release one day, any interested parties should get in touch with the band.
