Estudió Filosofía y Letras y viajó por Europa y Estados Unidos, donde asistió a conciertos de artistas que le han infludo como Frank Zappa y Bob Dylan, pero, curiosamente, también allí descubrió (o redescubrió) el flamenco. En 1975, en un encuentro que cambiaría su vida, conoció a los hermanos Rafael y Raimundo Amador, con los que forma el grupo Veneno.
