Germany (2005 – present)

The band is based in Germany and has members from Germany, France and the USA. The band was formed in 2005 by cousins Dorian (vocals) and Chai Deveraux (guitar). Ivy supported the duo on bass until the end of of 2006. At that time the group still had no drummer, which is why the first songs, released on the EP Assasinate ME, were recorded with the help of a drum-machine.

The band members’ roles in Jesus on Extasy changed at the end of 2006: Ophelia DAX (key board), BJ (drums) and Andrea Odendahl (second guitar) joined the band. The first album, Holy Beauty, was released in 2007 by Drakkar Entertainment.

The band was influenced by industrial, alternative and glam rock.

Holy Beauty > No Gods > Beloved Enemy > The Clock (as for me). Despite Dorian's style was always disturbing me, I miss him in JoE.

from trashy kind-of-good gothpop to bloody-hell-this-is-boring-as-fuck since this chick is trying to sing. funny how you can see here on lastfm that JoE are massively loosing listeners with every new album

Beloved Enemy album was boring as hell.. I like The Clock much more. Mostly good songs. The band probably changed too much for most fans and some want the lead to be this skinny "handsome" goth guy. He wasn't a great singer though..
