In Extremo is one of the most famous folk metal bands, originating from Berlin, Germany. The band’s musical style combines heavy metal with medieval traditional songs, blending the sound of the standard metal instruments with traditional instruments such as the bagpipes, harp, hurdy-gurdy and shawm.

Versions of well-known traditional/medieval ballads make up the main part of their repertoire, though over the years the band has also begun to write some original material using the German language. The traditional songs are sung in a variety of languages, including (but not limited to) Spanish, English, Norwegian, Swedish, Icelandic, Irish, French, Hebrew, Latin and Old German.

Als echten Fan zähle ich mich auch schon seit ungefähr einem Jahr nicht mehr. Und dann auch noch dieses enttäuschende Konzert letzten Sommer...Etwas feuriges Plimplim auf der Bühne reißt es halt nicht immer raus, schade. Ich hab schon Bands gesehen die mich nur durch die pure Bühnenenergie mitgerissen haben, Beispiel Mono Inc., Eisbrecher, Van Canto. Für den Durchschnitt den mir In Extremo bieten kann ich bei den Kartenpreisen bei anderen, besseren Bands zweimal aufs Konzert gehen. Und da hängen dann auch keine grölenden "Kinder" in der ersten Reihe. Wie gesagt, In Ex waren mal DIE Band für mich, auch heute höre ich mal gerne dieses und jenes Album, aber der Overkiller sind sie wohl nicht mehr, nicht zuletzt weil der Erfolg sie irgendwie verändert hat. Wer sich den Kapuzenpullover bis oben hin zuschnürt nur damit er auf dem Weg von der Bühne zum Bus nicht von den sog. "Fans" angesprochen wird, hat beim Komplex "Fannähe" irgendwas verpasst, glaube ich.

Muss mal ehrlich sagen, dass An Danzza nicht die schlechteste Band ist. Mich nervt dieses ewige Rumgespamme sehr, aber das Projekt hat mir doch ganz gut gefallen. Egal - werde Sängerkrieg die nächsten Tage nochmal antesten, ich geb dem Album nochmal ne Chance.
