Biography

After honing his songwriting chops and striking critical acclaim with veteran Boston rock group Cassavettes, frontman Glenn Yoder released "Okono Road" in 2009 and wandered out on his own into the musical wilderness. Well, sort of – he certainly took a lot of talented company with him. Calling upon a veritable all-star cast of fellow musicians for the recording sessions, including members of the Low Anthem and Girls Guns & Glory, Yoder and producer Todd Thibaud carefully crafted a record where the "song comes first." Folks took note, as one publication noted that "Yoder pays homage … to the great American song." Critics were quick to label Yoder a "young Paul Westerberg" while drawing comparisons to Neil Young, the Jayhawks, the Lemonheads, Ryan Adams, and Wilco. Now, frequently backed by a well-equipped live band, Yoder is respinning the idea of a "solo record" into a joyous communal celebration of song.
