Watford, Hertfordshire, England, United Kingdom (1999 – 2005, 2007 – present)

Geraldine Estelle “Geri” Halliwell (born 6th August, 1972 in Watford, Hertfordshire, England, United Kingdom) is an English , personality, writer, and UNICEF ambassador. In early 90’s she was the hostess of a Turkish game show Seç Bakalım (Let’s Make A Deal). She became famous in the late 1990s (under the nickname of “Ginger Spice”) as a member of the girl group the Spice Girls.

As a part of the Spice Girls, Geri released two studio albums, Spice (1996) and Spiceworld (1997) (sales combined are around thirty-five million), a box-office hit film, Spiceworld:The Movie (1997), and performed with the group on the early leg of The Spiceworld Tour (1998).

On May 30, 1998, just before the end of the European tour, Halliwell left the Spice Girls to pursue a solo career. The first official confirmation was an announcement to the media by her solicitor on 31st May.

In 1999, Halliwell released her debut solo album Schizophonic, with lead single “Look at Me”. The single reached number two in the UK, going on to sell over 1 million copies worldwide. Further singles from the album, “Mi Chico Latino” and “Lift Me Up”, became UK number ones with the latter outselling Halliwell’s former bandmate Emma Bunton. The fourth single, “Bag It Up”, also reached number one.

"Half of my brain" is pretty awful but who are we kidding here? Geri has been making stupid, sexed up pop with a quirky attitude to it (I prefer quirky and innocent or classy pop, which Geri does some of that too) since Passion with "ride it" or even on her first two albums with songs like "shake your bootie cutie" or "feels like sex" on "scream if" or songs like "Let me love you" (very cool intro on that song!) and "bag it up" on "Schizophonic". The difference though with those older, mildly revolting songs, and with her new single "half of nothing" is that while it's still undeniably tongue and cheek Geri, it's done on a whole new level of tacky and poor taste and major lack of Geri's former appealing character. Geri could have indeed done way better (as we the fans remember of her powerful potential) of course, but perhaps her new single is an indication of about as good as anything new from her is going to be. In which case, I'd prefer that she didn't sing anymore.

Abandoned. Having internet worldwide access & isolated. Writing what-ever-like-anybody-cares stuff. Praying to the icon when It doesn't hear us and moreover doesn't know about our existence. That's what we the fans are losers. My God how cursed we are. But out of nowhere in total darkness comes one ray of light. It's all not in vain. It's all because of you Geri so you are blessed.

I don't know who convinced her that "Half Of Me" would be a great return song. It is nice but comes nowhere close to her previous songs. She should have returned to a very strong song similar to "Love Never Loved Me". Hopefully her next single will be in that vein.
