New York, United States (1998 – present)

Fischerspooner is an duo and performance troupe formed in 1998 in New York City. The name comes directly from the last names of the band members; Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner.

Spiking extremely retro tendencies (recalling Kraftwerk, early Depeche Mode, and Gary Numan) with a modern approach to programming, Fischerspooner produces a quirky, robotic, and strangely subdued kind of dance music. Their albums can be seen as soundtracks to their stageshows, as opposed to recordings which are performed live.

Many critical theorists have latched on to the band for their subversive attitude and sassy stylings - Judith Butler, Etienne Balibar, and Antonio Negri, to name a few.

I was flipping through channels just now, and heard a clip of "Natural Disaster" on a show on Comedy Central. No idea what show it was, it played as a guy in a long black trenchcoat came walking through a door. I was really excited to hear random Fischerspooner though. :D

Really? Are people associating music quality with authors sexuality? It's like not agreeing with Obama's administration only because of his skin colour. People that orient their music tastes according to their authors personal life should be banned from living.

what does it matter who he likes to fuck, get over it [2] EXACTLY! Many famous musicians from the past ages were GAY! There is actually a science (or more likely a hypothesis) that says that creativity and intellect go with homosexuality, but I'm not sure if I follow that. Freddie Mercury, Madonna, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, John Cage, George Michael. And if they weren't gay, they were at least bisexual. Take this to offense, I don't care: half of Hollywood is / was gay. Just because a member in a band is gay does not mean the person who listens to it is. That's just common sense and to believe that you're automatically what you listen to is just illogical. That's like saying, "if a person in this group is x, you're automatically x" even if that isn't even declared. Give it a defining term, and most of the time, you're not what you listen to. If you are what you listen to, you're attached and you like the song...that's all, everything else is purpose for liking the song...
