Biography

Doug Pinnick (born September 3, 1950 in Braidwood, Illinois) is the bassist and lead vocalist for the progressive metal band King’s X. He is an African American, but claims he has other races in his blood.

He mainly plays a 4-string electric bass, but has played a 12-string bass before, on King’s X’s earlier tours. He provides the lead vocals for the band, but the other members chime in with him at times.

He also has a solo project, Poundhound, which has released two albums. Doug dropped the Poundhound moniker for his latest album, Emotional Animal, instead crediting himself as “dUg Pinnick.”

Pinnick was also a member of the short-lived band Supershine, along with long-time Trouble guitarist, Bruce Franklin and Trouble drummer, Jeff Oly Olson. Supershine released only one self-titled album in 2000
