DJ Wildduck started releasing singles, EPs and albums in 2005 via his website djwildduck.com (now defunct) at the age of 15. The initial batch featured heavy Techno and Trance influences, while the latter tracks shifted the focus towards a more alternative electronic sound. Each release was catalogued in DWDs, which stood for DJ Wildduck's Demo. Despite the abbreviation in the artist's name, he never worked or performed as a DJ, yet he used it as a reference to describe the electronic roots of his music. In the early 2010s he dropped the abbreviation altogether.
