Corpe God is one of many projects from Karl Purvis. The first Corpe God demo was recorded in 2001 featuring Karl on vocals and playing most instruments with exception of the drums. The demo featured a somewhat schizophrenic punk sound. The demo also featured a 10 minute doom metal track heavily influenced by Black Sabbath and Hellhammer. The lyrics mostly dealt with macabre. In 2002 the first full length was released finding Karl taking a new direction with opinionated and political lyrics and a fast crossover thrash sound bringing to mind bands like D.R.I. and S.O.D..
