The Apryl Fool - a hard psychedelic rock group, in a west coast style with organ and great lead guitar. They recorded one album, 'Apryl Fool' [Columbia, 1969]. Some tracks are very psychedelic, with one track sounding a little like C.A. Quintet, the Keyboardist Hiro Yanagida later went on to Food Brain and a solo career ; the drummer Takashi Matsumoto and bassist Harumi Hosono went on to Happy End. -.-.-.-. om hari om .....

"Sunday" on their sole album is a master piece sung in Japanese, with a hooking melody that I always hum whenever I walk! They are one of a kind! A true rock band!

They evolved out of the Floral, which performed the backing on the Monkees' Japanese visit (for their solo parts), and issued the first picture disc 45s by a Japanese rock group. Later the bassist and drummer changed and they became Apryl Fool. Of course the bassist was Haruomi Hosono, later resurfaced as one of the legendary band Happy End, and much later formed Yellow Magic Orchestra.
