폐허 (Pyha) is an ambient black metal band from South Korea. There is a lack of information in the western world, including the translation of the name itself. Debut album, 흉가, was released in 2002, and re-released with 3 new tracks in 2008. The next release was 맞불놀이, released in April 2011.

  • Well, nope... apparently he started doing music when he was 12 and that was back in 2002, so that would make him 25 by now
  • can't believe this dude is only 14
  • Пушка
  • Sounds like hell-manifested.
  • excellent recommendation that by my friend from Korea!! AVE 폐허 AND vox_nihili.....
  • Brief update on my previous post: 밤섬해적단 broke up / morphed into 삼풍 (Sampoong), who play a blend of sludge and noise; debut album/demo(?) coming out maybe spring 2013. Dude is playing drums in Dokkaebi Assault, but the performance I mentioned with Find The Spot was a one-off filling in for their regular bassist. He also told me at a show last month that he used to play bass for Sad Legend as a live session member.
  • Close... it's Ruined. This dude is also in 밤섬해적단 (Bamseom Pirates), a bass-and-drums grind rock band... he's also recently performed live with Dokkaebi Assault (d-beat) and Find The Spot (hardcore punk) though I'm not sure if he's a full-time member of either of those bands.
  • Those Asians are talented kind of people, aren't they? Isn't the translation of his name Ruins?
  • The new album is fucking amazing.
  • Great & very dark music. Definitely a trademark for Korean Black Metal.
