The band was active between 1993-1999, and considered a britpop pioneer in Israel.
Noam Rotem - Vocals and Guitar.
Roy Hadas - Bass and Vocals.
Ohad Koski - Guitar and Vocals.
Uri Meiselman - Drums and percussion.
Ice Nine was formed in Hod HaSharon in 1993 while all members still 19.
The band was named after a water’s special physical state from the book Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut.
In 1995 they recorded some demos with production by Shay Lahav (מופע הארנבות של ד”ר קספר) and played as an opening act for מוניקה סקס.
In 1996 they were signed to NMC, in 1997 “תחילתם של החיים הנכונים” (The beginning of the Right Life) was released. The album was a major success, and the band started playing as an opening act for אביב גפן והתעויוט. In June the same year they played as the opening act for Suede a band that has heavily influenced their sound.
In 1999 they released their eponymous second album “קרח 9” (Ice Nine). The group disbanded shortly after that same year.
In 2001 the group reformed for numerous performances.
All personals in the band have continued working in different musical projects over the years.
