UK electronic-post-rock legends 65DAYSOFSTATIC have announced their return to Australia with headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, as well as the 2015 Adelaide Festival (their first appearance in Adelaide).
The tour follows the band’s most recent studio album ‘Wild Light’ as well as extensive international touring in support of the 10th anniversary of their iconic debut ‘The Fall Of Math.’
Formed in 2001 in Sheffield, 65daysofstatic quickly established themselves as one of the most influential post-rock exponents in the UK. The success of their early records earned the band a personal invitation to support The Cure on their 2007-09 arena tour around the world, playing to hundreds of thousands of people.
It’s the band’s live show that has made them one of the most popular instrumental touring acts in the world. Where their records showcase their innovative and experimental electronic sound manipulations, their live show is a rock and roll rave that has seen them play huge festivals such as Glastonbury, Sonisphere and Summersonic.
“Next time someone tells you guitar music has run out of ideas, simply point them in the direction of 65daysofstatic.” - NME
“Catch 65DOS live and you will see that every member puts as much perspiration into his playing as a road-worker into his shovel on a hot day.” – Rogue Mag
The Australian tour will be supported by Perth piano-driven experimental rock quartet TANGLED THOUGHTS OF LEAVING. Coming off supports for This Will Destroy You, Russian Circles, Deafheaven and a European tour including Dunk Festival, the group will premiere new material from their recent EP release ‘Downbeat.’
“TTOL are like The Dirty Three meets The Necks on steroids.” - OzProg
