If you are a fan of British pop, this Double Bill Concert is certainly one not to be missed. Tony Hadley the lead singer of Spandau Ballet and Go West will be in town to perform in a Double Bill concert on July 26 at The Coliseum, Hard Rock Hotel® Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa.
Hailed as a "top crooner" by BBC, Anthony Patrick Hadley, or more affectionately known as Tony Hadley, will serenade audiences with some of Spandau Ballet's Greatest Hits such as TRUE, GOLD, COMMUNICATION, ONLY WHEN YOU LEAVE and many more. Tony Hadley, together with Spandau Ballet, sold out 13 Arena shows in the UK including three nights at the O2 Arena in London. Tony has continued to captivate and entertain audiences all around the globe with his rich and powerful voice. Their records remain as some of the most impactful and resonant of the 80s. They also ushered in a new era of visually dominated pop and prided themselves in being "not just another band" as quoted by Tony Hadley, the band's singer. Spandau Ballet's hit songs have been used pervasively in movies and television series such as Simpsons, Spin City, Charlie's Angels, The Wedding Singer and Ugly Betty. Their hits have also been used extensively in advertisements for Coca Cola, Sony Ericsson, Caixa, Nissan, Nescafe, Pils, and dozens more. Additionally, the band's songs have been covered by a range of famous artistes including the Black Eyed Peas and Nelly, to Paul Anka, Lloyd & Lil Wayne.
Spandau became one of the most commercially successful bands of the Eighties and during their career, they produced 23 hit singles and achieved album sales of over 25 million worldwide. Some of their songs, like "Gold", "Through the Barricades" and "True" have even become standards today.
English pop duo, Go West, will also be featured in this Double Bill Concert. The duo lead by vocalist Peter Cox and rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist Richard Drummie, will be performing hits like King of Wishful Thinking, Faithful, What You Won't Do For Love, Call Me, We Close Our Eyes and many more. Their debut album Go West sold 1.5 million copies worldwide and was on the UK chart for 83 weeks, making them one of the greatest songwriting duos of the 1980s.The duo was originally called "Cox and Drummie" before they renamed themselves Go West.
