Description
A bass-heavy night that will send vibrations up through the soles of your shoes: this CODE Live dub event features three of the genre’s major innovators. Martyn is internationally known for his soul- and techno-infused creations, 2562 (Dave Huismans) has earned acclaim for taking techno and bass music in brave new directions, mixing offbeat rhythms with moody chords. Deadbeat (Canadian Scott Monteith) has been releasing his own blend of dub-laden, minimal electronic music for over a decade. Another very special performance will be the collaboration between producer and musician Michael Red and Inuit throat singer Tanya Tagaq. Charly & Gallus are known for their heavy and dirty dubstep with influences from various underground electronic genres. The night will be complete with Vancouver’s very own DAEGA SOUND SYSTEM.
Part of this program presented by CODE Live was formed in collaboration with the TodaysArt festival (The Hague, The Netherlands), evolving from joint efforts in the ICAS network (International Cities of Advanced Sound) and made possible by the Dutch Embassy, NFPK+ and Fonds Pop over Zee.
