Daylight Music - evening sessions: - a cosy Sunday night in the Union Chapel Bar.
Experience Daylight as never before as we take the music and ethos of the Daylight Music platform and extend it into the Sunday Evening.
Better than the Antiques Roadshow and with a varied selection of fantastic live music; this is your chance to share a familial end of the weekend pint, read the papers or just relax in the cosy environs of the Union Chapel bar.
Live music from Madam, Cheval Sombre & Isnaj Dui
and DJ sets from Lenny George
On Madam:
...sometimes it's easier to tell secrets when you're in disguise.
Madam is a project of singer/songwriter/producer Sukie Smith. The songs are written on guitar or piano or sung straight into a mini disk/mobile phone/answer machine, what ever the nearest recording/remembering thing is and every word is true.
On Cheval Sombre:
Each of Cheval Sombre’s songs is a sort of pacemaker. Lyrics crawl out of the vocalist’s mouth forming a resounding anthem that doesn’t march with climactic tension, but vibrates throughout the track with the unconscious nature of a heartbeat, softening the murmurs into a subtle rhythm. Cheval Sombre will be joined by Sonic Boom for this special intimate perfomance.
On Isnaj Dui:
Standing somewhere between modern classical and electronica, Isnaj Dui (real name Katie English) works within minimalist parameters using acoustic instruments and electronically manipulated effects. As well as regular live performances, Katie has had releases on Smallfish and her own FBox Records. As a classically trained flautist, Katie uses concert and bass flutes alongside various home made instruments, with live manipulation using an effects and looping device.
