Description

DrownedinSound presents:

Banjo Or Freakout
http://www.myspace.com/banjoorfreakout

If you caught their show at the Tramlines Festival recently you'll know just how brilliant this so-hot-right-now London duo are - if not, come and find out. They're basically a two-person take on the Animal Collective kaleidoscopic pop sound. Yeah, that good. But don't just take our word for it...

"Quite possibly one of the most mesmerising, and undoubtedly unique outfits currently surfing the block" - Drowned in Sound

"Impressive, enigmatic, lovely and atmospheric... His feet are on the ground, his head in the air"- Pitchfork

"A forward thinking individual whose melodies and noisy concoctions are far removed from the paint-by-numbers fare currently clogging up our server ... There's clearly evidence of something special special brewing outside of the spotlight's glare" - The Stool Pigeon

"An experimental but potentially accessible merger of tribal beats, dubstep production techniques and luscious pop melodies buried beneath the static and hiss" - The Guardian

Sian Alice Group
http://www.myspace.com/sianalicegroup

If the support slots a band has played are any indication of their quality (and, let's face it, they usually are) then Sian Alice Group are amazing: Deerhunter and Gang Gang Dance have toured with them recently...

"Demon intensity, a mass of menacing feedback-bedecked kraut grooves" - Drowned in Sound

"Medicinal music that should be taken aurally as often as possible" - NME

Miracle & The Soul Interpreter
http://www.myspace.com/miracleandthesoulinterpreter

In their words:

"Both Miracle and the Soul Interpreter love strange varieties of music, but they share a love of stripped back RnB. 'No Diggity', 'Try Agai'n, 'Bucky Done Gun', 'One Thing', 'Gold Digger', 'Crazy In Love' et al. The challenge is to make English these slick, romantic beats while touching as many kids as possible, the rascals. Still, boys will be boys."

In our words: these local lotharios are single (double?) handedly bringing sexy back to the Steel City. Come down early and get funked.
