Courageous

I think my boss knows I'm lazy
I know my boo thinks I'm shady
Good news is I can trade it for love
If I take the above and display it

Cause when the world knows I'm crazy
They feel like they can relate it
So I take all my flaws and trade 'em for applause

I walk with faith every step because I'm not blind
Storm cloud won't stop my shine
Even though I get depressed at times
With a tribe like mine, I can share what's on my mind

And they all say "hit me right in the feels"
When it stings then you know that it's real
Catch me outside and I'll probably say chill
It was just content, it's not a big deal

Made it through the year just barely holding my sanity
Grip still strong not letting go of my vanity
I can see my hairline starting to fade
And the only way stop it, I gotta get paid

And I know the way, so here goes nothing
Take my dirty laundry and air it out for the public

My first time with anxiety was eighth grade
Didn't know what it was, but I was very afraid
Couldn't fall asleep keeping those thoughts at bay
Every now & then still get that way

Wait

You think about it, it'll break your heart
Grown man, still afraid of the dark
I'm old enough to know, some things you won't outgrow
Like that stutter I developed back when I was 4

I used to think I was invincible I swear
But now I miss the days I wasn't self aware
Growing up I didn't think I cared
But I still show signs of someone who's father was not there
