Alan Silvestri 早年以为低成本B级电影和电视剧配乐出名,1985年为暑期大片《回到未来》(BACK TO THE FUTURE)配乐,一战成名。他处理动作电影的音乐方式也创造了好莱坞的“重低音打击乐”派别,他常常光用电脑合成音效就完成整部电影配乐,而根本不用任何乐器,在乐界他甚至有“重击老大”(HITTING BOSS)的外号,堪称九零年代好莱坞最具代表性的电影作曲家。在九零年代后期席维史崔也开始重视乐曲情感深度。他为《阿甘正传》所作的配乐令人耳目一新,并获当年奥斯卡提名。
