The transformation of Olafur Arnald's musical output from subtle, tranquil neo-classical through to ambient techno-led club music feels remarkably natural. Kiasmos have been around for a fair while but it's only recently that Arnalds, alongside Janus Rasmussen of synth-pop band Bloodgroup, have chosen to concentrate their artistic endeavours on this admirably confident project. It has led to the release of their highly-acclaimed debut self-titled record - a piece of work so sonically rich in ambient textures and pulsating techno rhythms that it stands on its own as one of 2014's truly unique releases.
