This study day will examine the far-reaching legacy of these three composers who dominate the world of Russian music and provide a social and political context to their lives.

The Royal Conservatoire and the Scottish orchestras are performing works by all three composers this season. This in-depth study day provides an alternative music experience for the concert-goer.
The specialist study day will draw on specific examples from each composer’s work, giving insight into their compositional method and musical language.
